Dua Lipa looks just like a mermaid in these beachy waves

It seems Dua Lipa hasn't left her Mermaid Barbie days behind her quite yet. The musician, and star of the new movie Argylle, looks like she just took a dip in the Barbie Land ocean with her red mermaid waves.

Dua attended the London premiere of her forthcoming film with her cherry cola red hair styled in effortless beachy waves created by hairstylist Rio Sreedharan. The waves weren't precise or uniform in shape, but rather looked as though they'd been styled with a three-barrel iron, then roughed up and tousled for an undone finish.

The hair was then left loose, hitting just below Dua's collarbone. This isn't an Old Hollywood wave or a bombshell style, but rather a classic beach babe wave — a fun contrast against the sheer glamour of her sequinned Gucci gown.

It's also a bit of a departure for the star, who has been wearing her hair straight and pulled up and back on the red carpet as of late.

Makeup artist Lisa Eldridge applied a light shadow to Dua's lids, then applied a greyish-black liner to her upper and lower lash lines for smudgy rock ‘n roll glam. The pop star's full brows were brushed up ever so subtly to match the easygoing, slightly undone vibes of her hair. Lisa then brushed on a reddish blush across Dua's cheekbones and over her nose for a sunburnt effect, with a similar shade on her lips.

True to Dua's signature style, it's glamorous but rebellious, blending superstar sparkle with a hint of punk edge. The waves and the sun-swept cheeks make it look like she spent the day on the Malibu beach, soaking up sunshine and salt water with the rest of the Mermaid Barbies, and TBH, I'm jealous.
