Monzo goes down with users unable to access their accounts

Thousands of Monzo Bank users are experiencing issues with the app today.

Users who logged into their account were met with a message reading: ‘We’re experiencing issues. We’ll let you know when they’re resolved.’

Monzo account holders can still see their account balances and use their cards,but many have said they can’t transfer money.

A Monzo spokesperson told Metro: ‘We’re currently experiencing a technical issue and are working to resolve this as soon as possible.

‘In the meantime,we’ve moved into our backup system,Monzo Stand-In,and customers can still do most things on their Monzo app,including sending bank transfers and making card payments and ATM withdrawals.’

DownDetector showed a sharp increase in outage reports for both Monzo and Santander.

The issue hasn’t been revealed yet.

Santander users were met with a screen reading ‘Santander UK isn’t responding.’
