Emily in Paris season 4 is set to begin filming next year

The 2022 Christmas drop of Emily in Paris season three feels like a lifetime ago, and we're ready to go back to Paris with Emily and the gang for a fourth instalment of the Netflix smash show.

But get this: apparently Emily will be heading out of Paris during the fourth season. During Netflix's TUDUM event, Lily Collins weighed in on what we can expect for the new season, and apparently a trip to Rome is on the list.

"While Emily's heart will always remain true to Paris, her life takes some unexpected twists this season," she said. “Don't be surprised to find her on a Roman holiday.”

Lily was also keen to tease us with all the questions we NEED answering in season four: “It's safe to say we ended on a dramatic note last season, and surprise, it does not end there,” she said.

“Is Alfie still heartbroken? Will Gabriel get his Michelin star? Will Mindy and the band go to Eurovision? And what about Camille?

And let's not forget the ultimate question: “Will Emily and Gabriel finally get together?”

Either way, there is one guarantee for season four: Whatever Emily Cooper is doing, she will be doing it in style.

The good news is, now that the SAG-AFTRA strike is officially over, Netflix has already got plans to get production up and running. According to Variety, filming is set to commence in January 2024 with five months in Paris and Italy. Magnifiue!

Has Emily In Paris been renewed yet?

Back in January of 2022, following the premiere of the show's second season, Emily in Paris was renewed for season three and four at the same time.

Though Netflix shows — even those that have been relatively well-received — are known for getting abruptly cancelled after just one or two seasons, you can rest easy in knowing that a fourth season is guaranteed to be forthcoming.

When is the premiere date?

We know, per Variety, that seasons three and four of Emily in Paris were scheduled to film back to back, but the premiere date for season four has yet to be announced, so all we have to go on at the moment are some educated guesses.

Seasons two and three of Emily In Paris both premiered at the end of December right before Christmas, so if we had to place a bet, we'd say look out for a late December 2024 premiere date.

Who is in the season four cast?

It seems safe to assume that Lily Collins will be back as the titular Emily, and there have been no announced shakeups to any of the rest of the regular cast. (Hopefully season four will also include at least one appearance by Kate Walsh as Emily's former American boss.)

More importantly, we're keeping our eyes open for any new characters that might be introduced. Another love interest perhaps? When in Paris, one can never have too many.
